Summer is the time for hoses. What do you use your hose for?

  • Drinking water for your camper
  • Sprinkler system for your garden or your kids
  • Watering your plants
  • Watering your farm animals
  • Washing your car, motorcycle, or other mode of transportation

Obviously there are more uses, but these are the first that come to my mind, at least.

The problem with hoses… well, there are a lot of problems with hoses. Here are a few.

  • They kink and twist
  • They spring leaks
  • They are heavy and bulky

Yuck. They’re just no fun, and no one really wants to deal with the hassle. So many times, we just forget the hose and go forward with life. We use watering cans or other methods of getting water to where it needs to go because the hose is just too much of a pain.

What if there was a better way? What if there was a way to get a hose that can help you get all of your outdoorsy tasks done without the hassle and annoyance of a hose?

There is a hose out there that may be able to help you out. Meet the DAP XHose, a possible solution to your hose-using woes.

Pros of the XHose

The XHose was created by DAP in order to try and fight off all the problems that people have with traditional hoses. Here are some of the great things about the XHose that you can check out.

  • The technology is new and different – an outer, webbed layer and an inner rubber hose that expands and contracts like a rubber band when the water is turned on and off.
  • The hose weighs a mere 1 pound, making it much, much less than conventional garden hoses.
  • No kinks! One of the worst things about using a hose is how they twist and kink and kill your water pressure – the outer webbing makes sure that the inner hose doesn’t twist, which means that your water flow is strong and consistent.
  • Inexpensive! Some hoses are really expensive; the XHose is a better hose, for a fraction of the cost.
  • It’s flexible. If you need to go around corners or over objects, the XHose can do that for you.
  • It’s easy to store. Due to the way that the inner hose contracts and expands, you can wrap it up to a size that’s so small that it can fit in a woman’s purse.
  • The outer webbing is also more attractive than those ugly green garden hoses that you’re used to seeing. So, even if you store it where people can see it, it’s not hideous and it doesn’t take up a lot of space.
  • There are three sizes available – 25 foot, 50 foot, and 75 foot. Because of the XHose’s design, they are 12.5 feet, 25 feet, and 37.5 feet, respectively, until they are used. They store at the smaller lengths.
  • Great delivery time – depending on how you get it, the shipping is quick and inexpensive. No need to wait 3 months for your new hose!

If you’re looking for a more durable, heavy duty hose, there’s another alternative as well, known as the XHose Pro. The XHose Pro’s outer layer is made of a thicker, more durable material. The inside of the XHose Pro is wider and stronger, allowing for more powerful water flow.

Cons of the X Hose

Like with any product, there are a few cons that you should consider when checking out the XHose.

  • You cannot store it outside during the winter. The cold can cause the rubber to crack and become deformed.
  • You need to keep it out of direct sunlight – too much sun can compromise the outer webbing
  • You need to be careful on rougher terrain – although the webbing is durable, it’s not heavy duty. Don’t run it over jagged rocks or other sharp objects.
  • It doesn’t take an extreme amount of pressure well, so users beware! You can pop holes in it if you go too crazy with it.

Most of these cons are associated with the original X Hose being used for heavy-duty use, which it wasn’t intended for. As stated above, if you’re looking for something that’s a bit more rough and tumble, consider the X Hose Pro.

If you’re looking for a better, more convienient hose, then the XHose is definitely worth a look at. In many people’s eyes, the pros of the XHose definitely outweigh the cons that some customers have seen. Strong, flexible, and easy to store. The XHose may be an option for you and those you love in your search for an easy, light hose.
